Survey Africa’s sister company Pure Survey was commissioned in March 2008 to conduct a survey
about the sexual history, preferences and desires of South African women. Heat magazine has an
extremely huge fan base, which made it easier for us to disseminate the survey. We created a visually
appealing survey that highlighted the branding of the magazine, a link was then placed on the Heat website
and an advert was placed in the March issue of the magazine. The response to the survey was fantastic and
allowed the magazine to generate reports and statistics that represented the views and opinions of South African women.

We are always constantly learning new techniques and discovering new possibilities with our survey software.
During April 2008, we were asked to run an electronic voting campaign for a large corporate entity that would
rather not be named. After some initial pessimism about the functionality of the survey platform being used in
electoral proceedings, we proved that with the addition of security measures such passwords for each voter and
not allowing multiple entries from each voter that the platform was indeed the ideal solution as it allowed voters
to vote at their own convenience and from their own computer. The results were collected fast and using the online
reports link the board of the company knew instantly what the outcome was.
